Reducing health inequalities

Here at The Speech Therapy Clinic, we are passionate about reducing health inequalities. We believe everyone is entitled to safe, effective, and easy access to care and treatment regardless of race, ethnicity and cultural values/beliefs.

The onset of the global pandemic, Covid-19 has shone a bright light on the disproportionate impact of the virus on different communities and this equally applies to other areas of health and care. We aim to work with local clinicians and commissioners to deliver care that is accessible to all our communities, and that is made possible by our ability to deliver therapy in multiple languages which is critical to delivering the most effective care with the best outcomes.

To further support our bid to bridge the gap in health inequalities our team is currently developing a range of resources that can be used to provide therapists and other AHPs with tools for assessment, treatment and prevention. Please get in touch with the team if you have any specific requirements that we may be able to assist with.

Supporting communities

Here at the Speech Therapy Clinic we believe the role of the various different charities that have been set up to support clients and their families are essential in the rehabilitation process of individuals.

We aim to work in collaboration with these charities to help provide further support and advice to individuals accessing these services, as well as training and education for the staff who are providing this support.

We can also help individuals in setting up their own support groups in the community, working with them to increase awareness, better understand specific conditions as well as provide them with some maintenance programmes.
